This campsite is basic, very basic. It has minimal facilities for the amount of people and to be honest i didn't have the greatest experience staying there.I arrived with high hopes, great views and fairly quiet, it all felt very pleasant. Lad at reception was nice enough and the site was green and grass lush although in the field we were in there was plenty of old cut crops sticking out of the ground so we needed to wear shoes as these were painful to stand on barefoot. We had crazy rain whilst there which totally tore up the site and made it impossible to drive on, to the point where we had to walk into town for dinner as taking the car risked getting stuck. I think really, the site management should have got some straw down or even some planks of wood to help with the issue. Our main issue though was the facilities. There were minimal toilets to how many people were there which meant they got pretty messy. Most loo locks didn't lock. Two urinals for men, in a field with probably over 100 men in it. Showers weren't great, the one i went in had no hot water and according to my fiancee, the girl's showers were filthy, blocked and one had the remains of a period in it. The washing up facilities were fine except they had no hot water! How can you wash up with no hot water?Water points were mininal too. None that i could see in the top fields and bins were only at the front of site, crazy for such a large site. The owner was a nice bloke, he listened to our moans and did something about them but this campsite needs alot of improvements. It's classed as budget but i paid far from budget prices. I've stayed in hundreds of campsites and this certainly didn't score well for me. Comparing this campsite to cherry tree just up the road, they're in different leagues and cherry tree isn't much more in price. It has so much potential but needs lots of improvements.
Great site friendly guy
Good quiet campsite. You need use your car to get to the beach
Fantastic place. my kids love running around the big field and the camp fire .....we are already booked for this july and august
Probably been my favourite camping experience in North Devon so far!Usually go other places but stumbled across this one and it's been a lovely place to stay with mates while being really close (2 min drive in the car) to the beach which is a bonus.Price is good, not pricey like other locations, facilities cleaned daily and there was plenty of space to pitch up without getting in other people's hair.Definitely looking at staying here again next year
